In the heart of Val d'Orcia Natural Park and of the natural reserve "Lucciola Bella", our farm holidays is a few minutes from the principle medieval villages of Val d'Orcia, such as Monticchiello, and its Castello dei Cavalieri Templari, home of the renowed teatro povero; Pienza, the Renaissance dream of Pio II; Montepulciano, hometown of the distinguished humanist "Il Poliziano"; Montalcino and its exceptional brunellos; Bagno Vignoni, a breath-taking suburb developed around an ancient Roman thermal pool.

Chiusi Etruscan city of the VIII century A.C.; and Radicofani, with its fortress which dominates the valley. Val d'Orcia, rich in subsoil sulfur waters, hosts important and celebrated thermal centers which offer esthetic and healing treatments.

A small distance away from our farm holidays the thermal centers of Montepulciano, San Casciano ai Bagni, Chianciano, Bagno. Vignoni and Bagni San Filippo, are ideal for the relaxation and the care of the body. A few minutes away from the principle historical and cultural center of the Siena, cultural center of the Siena, Tuscany area, our "Agriturismo Le Macchie" is the meeting point between nature, well being, "enogastronomia", art and history.

Information on the area	the Agriturismo is located near Monticchiello, in what is now the Natural Reserve of Orcia Valley, a beautiful hilly area, with breathtaking panoramas. The property is close to important Medieval Towns (Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino), to Beauty and Wellbeing Spas (Bagno Vignoni, Chianciano Terme and San Casciano dei Bagni). The area is also known for being the place where some excellent Tuscany wines are produced (Brunello of Montalcino, Vino Nobile of Montepulciano) and everywhere good restaurants can be found.
By Car	COMING FROM NORTH (FLORENCE-MILAN) Join highway (autostrada) A1 direction Rome. Exit at BETTOLLE-VALDICHIANA, after paying the toll turn left following signs for MONTEPULCIANO. Drive up to Montepulciano. Once in the town pay attention to direction CHIANCIANO TERME. You will be driving alongside the hill-town of Montepulciano. At a junction turn left still towards CHIANCIANO TERME. Drive for 2 km and turn right direction MONTICCHIELLO (the road is called VIA DELLA MONTAGNA) COMING FROM SOUTH (ROME) Join the highway (autostrada) A1 direction Florence. Exit at CHIUSI-CHIANCIANO TERME, after paying the toll turn right first and left afterwards direction CHIANCIANO TERME. Follow this road until you reach Chianciano Terme. Once in Chianciano Terme drive to MONTEPULCIANO. This road goes up. You will pass by the village of SANT’ALBINO and after 1,5 km from the village turn left direction MONTICCHIELLO (the road is called VIA DELLA MONTAGNA). TO LE MACCHIE (BOTH FROM POINT NORTH OR SOUTH) After a 5,8 km turn right direction MONTICCHIELLO-PIENZA and follow this windy road for a few km. Pay attention to your left hand side to a sign for LE MACCHIE (if you reach the T-junction heading to Monticchiello-Pienza it means that you have driven by-passing the Estate and you have to go back upwards). Take this dirt road (there is an open gate) following it until the end. GATE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DIRT ROAD IS LOCKED, YOU WILL NEED TO GET THE SECURITY CODE, CONTACT US BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL.
By train	Nearest Train Station: Chiusi-Chianciano Terme (30 km). At the Station it's either possible to hire a car or take a taxi.
