it is possible to encounter the magic of a place, to observe the slow yet intense rhythm of a 1000 year old abbey and farm and to sleep in history. Guests can rest and relax in the magnificent italian style garden or, during the summer months, around the large open-air swimming pool. For the rest of the year, Badia a Coltibuono also has an indoor countercurrent swimming pool, with an annexed Turkish bath.

At 650 metres above sea level summers are temperate and the villa naturally cool in the evenings. 800 hectares of forests, crisscrossed with walking or mountain biking paths provide for a pristine natural backdrop.

By Car From Florence; follow the A1 motorway to Rome, then take the exit marked "Valdarno". At Montevarchi , take the SS 408 highway towards Gaiole. From Rome; follow the A1 motorway towards Florence, and take the exit marked "Valdichiana" in the direction of Siena. Follow the "superstrada" towards Siena, taking the exit marked ”Castelnuovo Berardenga” and proceeding on the SS 484 highway towards Gaiole.
By train From Florence: take the local commuter train to Montevarchi and proceed by bus to Gaiole, Radda or Castellina. From Rome: either change at Chiusi and proceed to Siena or go to Montevarchi and proceed by bus to Gaiole, Radda or Castellina.
By Plane The airports of Florence, Pisa and Rome give convenient access to the area.
