La Posta Vecchia, a splendid 17th century seaside palace, immersed in beautiful Italian gardens and overlooking the Thyrrenian sea, offers guests a privately luxurious and peaceful retreat, only 40 minutes away from the center of Rome. The villa was built in 1640 on behalf of the Orsini family over the remains of the Roman town of Alsium. In 1960, Jean Paul Getty, the North American tycoon, bought it and restored it to its ancient splendour, adding priceless antiques and furniture acquired from all over the world. Furthermore, the ruins of an ancient Roman villa were uncovered, ruins which can still be visited in the archaeological museum in the basement of the hotel. The property was later transformed into a 19 bedroom hotel, where rooms and suites are furnished with exquisite furniture from the late millionaire's private collection. The hotel indoor swimming pool, with heated water, offers a spectacular sea view. The beauty centre near the pool is ideal for massages, facials, manicure and pedicure. La Posta Vecchia features a Michelin starred restaurant "The Cesar" where guests can savour Mediterranean cuisine with a twist. There is a conference room with seating capacity for 65 guests: La Posta Vecchia Hotel is in fact the ultimate location for business meetings in complete privacy or for leisure, quiet study and meditation. The entire villa is available for exclusive use for special events and meetings. There is a heliport with private access in the park.

Dining Restaurant "The Cesar", 1 Michelin Star, mediterranean cuisine with a twist by Chef Michele Gioia
Information on the area Only 40 minutes away from central Rome and 25 minutes from the International Airport of Fiumicino "Leonardo da Vinci", La Posta Vecchia is located close to the ancient Etrurian areas to be visited in the exquisite villages of Cerveteri, Tuscania and Tarquinia
By Car From the centre of Rome, take the ring road (Grande Raccondo Anulare /GRA) and follow the signs towards Civitavecchia. After taking the Civitavecchia exit you will be on the motorway A12. Keep going and then exit at Cerveteri-Ladispoli (you will see the sign on the motorway). Leave behind the motorway, turn right after the STOP sign and after 300 metres, at the light, turn left. You are now on the SS1 Aurelia. Ignore the first entrance to Ladispoli on your right (km 39). Keep going and then take the second exit, Palo Laziale, always on your right (km 37). Continue on that road going over an overpass. As you are coming down from the overpass, look for the La Posta Vecchia sign and make a sharp left which is almost a U-turn on Via Corrado Melone. Take this tree lined road all the way to the end where you will see a wooden gate on your right. Please use the buzzer on the right to notify us of your arrival.
By train From Stazione Termini in Rome take another train to Ladispoli/Cerveteri
By Plane "Leonardo da Vinci" Airport, Roma Fiumicino, 29 km from La Posta Vecchia
