Charming accommodations in Sicily, Pantelleria island

The Resort, member of "Design Hotel" is in the exquisite environment of Valle di Monastero and Piana di Sibà , where a collection of ancient “dammusi”, typical local buildings, have been restored and renovated into high level lodgings, ideal for both a relaxing and an active holiday. All the buildings are situated within the confines of Santa Teresa, a working farm which extends over 40 hectares of vineyards, producing Nero d’Avola, Merlot and Cabernet wines, olive trees, vegetables, lentils, beds of aromatic herbs and woodland.

Sibà houses the reception area, a small beauty centre Comfort Zone available from June to September (at an extra cost), the Arabian garden, an area for practicing golf, a cluster of 8 houses, named Sibà, with a small swimming pool as well as another 4 houses, named Frà Diavolo, again with a small swimming pool. In the adjacent Monastero Valley there are 2 mini villages clustered together, one comprising of 3 houses near the swimming pool and the other, of another 3 houses, in a more secluded area. The “dammusi”, recently restored and tastefully decorated are all individual and unique. We classify them into 3 categories, based on to the dimension, position, indoor and outdoor facilities: classic – comfort – superior. Each can accommodate between 2 and 4 people, some with the main bed in an alcove or a gallery and all featuring a bathroom (there is one “dammuso” with two bathrooms) and air conditioning. To offer the maximum level of comfort our services include breakfast in the Arabian Garden (subject to the weather conditions).

The crystal clear blue sea of Pantelleria is waiting for you. Daily excursions are available by boat to visit the most spectacular coves of the island, to take a swim and to taste exquisite specialties at lunch time. Or you may prefer to wander around and discover the many sights of the island, by car or minibus, on your own or with one of the many expert guides. You might like to visit the Montagna Grande (the Big Mountain) and from the summit (836m) you can see the coast of Africa. Do not forget to take a swim in the warm waters of Nicà or mud baths in the Lake of Venus. You will be able to taste the wines, local delicacies such as cheese and follow the preparation of the locally-grown capers. The various restaurants in the island will tempt you with the delicate “pesto from Pantelleria”, cous cous, fresh fish and sweets of Arabic origin. Golf lovers can practice their skills and in the evening you can all congregate in the small terrace at the reception area for an aperitif at sunset. Or sit lazily around the swimming pool and bask under the warm African sun.
